Perseverance Purpose Prayer

-->

When I think about this past year I continue to be amazed at all that took place.  In 2014, my destinations took me from Tennessee, to Kansas City, Paris France, London, Hollywood California, and Panama Beach. These were definitely all the blessings and favor of God.  Working your dream takes perseverance, patience, walking in purpose, and prayer.

2014 TRAVEL AND EVENTS
When we start a new year we have many goals and dreams we want to fulfill.  We start off strong and then we slow down and not work as hard as we did in the first couple of months of the year.  If we are honest with ourselves we can identify the things that we stayed consistent with and the things we gave up on.  It is normal to get tired of pushing forward when you cannot see results quickly.  We also know that consistency get results.

2014 SPEAKING AND TRAINING
Most of us will stop, but still expect the same results.  I had many dreams and desires for myself in 2014 and I saw some great results with the things I focused on and completed.  Even though we may not have seen great results with all the things on our list, I believe all of us can identify more great things than bad that happened this year. In order to have a grateful heart we have to look daily at what we have, what we can give, and the great things ahead in our lives.

This was a great year for me even with some of the hard and difficult challenges and task I faced.  God was faithful every step of the way as I put my hands to work.  Yes, we have a part to play.  I am determined to live my best life on purpose! What about you?

2014 TABLE TALK WITH YOLANDA

Take some time to list what you are grateful for, what you accomplished this year, and what you desire to do in 2015. When you write the vision it is easier to make it happen and know what help you need to complete the task.   “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it”. Habakkuk 2:2

If you wish to succeed in life, make perseverance your bosom friend, experience your wise counselor, caution your elder brother, and hope your guardian genius.  Joseph Addison

The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand. Vince Lombardi

As you approach 2015 stay focused, work hard, and stay committed to what you know you are called to do.  Don’t try to do what you think people expect you to do.  If your old way in 2014 didn’t work try a new way, get support, but don’t give up.  Walk completely in the things you know you were destined for.  When it gets hard keep moving forward, because hard work does pay off. Make sure to stay connected to dreamers, visionaries and doers and stay away from DREAM THIEVES

A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Colin Powell

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO PREPARE FOR 2015?

This is the time to prepare for 2015. Review what you have been able to accomplish this year and what you need to rollover to 2015. Take a good look at the things that you weren’t able to accomplish and come up with a game plan to tackle them in 2015. One of the things that I continue to hear from clients is that they have a lack of focus and many distractions.

When you make your plan try not to make changes until items have been accomplished. Sometimes there is not enough time spent on the goals to see them completed. The theme for 2015 is FOCUS. Make sure your goals are realistic, attainable, and have a timeline. Identify a accountability partner that you can check in with monthly.

A coach is also good to get you started. The investment will be worth it. Every good athlete and business leader has a coach. Schedule some time with yourself to prepare for 2015. If you don’t care about it no one else will. End your year well by preparing for next year. You don’t know how much you can accomplish until you make a plan and follow it.

DO YOU BELIEVE I WAS BORN TO SUCCEED?

Hello Family & Friends,

As we draw close to the end of this year, I am very grateful for you and your continuous support of our effort in Emure Kingdom. I use the word "our" because I truly believe that caring for our people is a communal effort and never a "one man show". I look back at the last time I was at Emure with the team, the cries I saw on the faces of children who stopped us to ask if we would ever return to the community; the elderly who needed help to walk across the streets; the mother who is not certain she would be able to feed her baby that night; children are who supposed to be in school, yet are unable to because of lack of funds; child mortality in the under sourced community clinics...Words cannot express the gratitude I have for even having the privilege to have access to quality healthcare system care, good roads, electricity, water... all the basic necessities which often are not available in many of our communities in Africa.

I NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS COMING HOLIDAY SEASON A PLEASANT ONE FOR OUR CHILDREN IN EMURE KINGDOM.

Last year, by God's grace we were able to provide scholarship for about 40 children from primary to university level. Thank God, by his grace we have at least 3 of our children who have graduated from university with GPA of over 4.0! Because we give, these children have a brighter future.  We will love to do more this year. Dec. 2nd, 2014 mark the day when the scholarship will be announce.

HELP CONTINUE TO FILL CLASSROOMS

In addition to what we have been doing, I will like to raise $4000.00 - $5,000.00 towards our already established scholarship fund and the School Supplies Fund; the balance will be used to commence the Orphan Program in Emure Ekiti, West Africa.

You can send your check to: Made Payable to Adassa Adumori Foundation, Inc." and send it to: Adassa Adumori Foundation, Inc. c/o Dr. Fumi Stephanie Hancock P .O. Box 2071, Spring Hill, TN 37174, USA.

Due to the urgency of this particular donation, you can also choose to donate at: http://www.adassafoundation.com/#!donor-site Use the GENERAL DONATION TAB or just use whichever button but specify Scholarship Fund. This is a US based 501(3) non-profit organization. As such, YOUR DONATION IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE. TRAINING YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

I have heard young entrepreneurs including my son say “I’m never working for anyone”. As much as I love having my own business and working with many business owners, I know what it takes to start and keep a business thriving. I encourage my son and many other young people that have this same desire. As I encourage, I also want to equip them to have a great start and to also know the realities of running their own business. Sometimes you do have to work for other people and it is okay. You gain so many skills that will prepare you for starting and running your own business. I started my son at age 10 in a program called CEO academy that trained young people to start their own business. He was so excited and started his small business RBS Toys and gifts. I knew he was all in when his teacher called to let me know that he couldn’t sell his products at school.

I had no idea that he was doing business at the school. I laughed so hard and then had to come up with my response for him. Go Roland!! I didn’t want to discourage him, but also didn’t want him kicked out of school. You can encourage, empower, and train your young entrepreneur without discouraging them. Start early by teaching them great business skills that will not only help them in business, but while working for someone else too. When Roland started his small business he had to create a business plan and do his own marketing. Listed below are some tips that you can implement with your young entrepreneur to get them started.

Roland at age 10 and Former Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell

Create a business plan. A strong business plan addresses all the areas that will help establish a strong start. Have them to include: Mission, Vision, Values, Market and budget.

Networking is key. They should attend networking events; contact all of their friends and family members. With social media this will be much easier for them than it was for us in our teens.

Learn about your business area. The more you know about your particular field or business, the better your chances of success. Get a mentor or coach that can assist you. Join young entrepreneur group on high school and college campuses.

Start the business part-time. If you cannot afford full-time investment, start by putting a couple of hours a week into the business. Once you are making income you can start to increase your time.

Do it legally. Do you need a permit? A business license? Do you have to meet certain local guidelines for your particular venture? Make sure that you are within the law at all times.

When it gets hard don’t give up. It pays off if you stick with it.

IS YOUR ORGANIZATION READY FOR GRANT FUNDING?

There are several things your Nonprofit or NGO should have in place to be in a great position to receive grant funding.  I receive calls every week from organizations or individuals that want to secure my grant writing services.  I will not take on a client unless they are truly prepared for grant funding.  If they aren’t prepared it is really a waste of time and resources.  A few things that have to be in place to even start doing grant research.
2.    Mission Vision
3.    Agency annual budget
4.    Active Board of Directors
5.    Written Program and Service descriptions and outcomes
Federal grant applications for nonprofits can take 80-200 hours to complete, and hiring a grant writer to prepare one for your can cost $5,000-$10,000 or more. Nonprofits entertaining the idea of government grants must first ask, “Is my nonprofit ready to pursue government grants?  Private Foundation grants can take less time to prepare but are very competitive as well.
Competition for all grant funding has intensified significantly since the recession. Many times when government grants competitions are announced, deadlines are generally just four to eight weeks away. That doesn’t give you the time you need to develop a competitive proposal.  This is why preparation is important, so before you spend your precious time researching government http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/home.html http://foundationcenter.org/ grants and hiring a grant writer make sure your nonprofit is positioned for success.

The most successful organizations have:

1.  A history of successful grant seeking
Government agencies look for evidence that your organization has already been successful in securing grants from local and regional foundations, local community foundation, family foundation and/or corporate philanthropy programs.  You should also have ongoing support from your board of directors -- some funders require evidence that 100% of your board donates to your organization every year. Why should the state or federal government support your work if you don't have the support of your local funders and your own board?
2.  Capacity and credibility
Do you have the right staff with the right qualifications in place to implement your program?
If you are planning an arts and music program, for instance, you should have staff in place (or plan to hire) people who have worked in arts and music.   The head of the program should have a a degree and many years of experience.
Do you have sufficient technological resources to implement your programs and manage complex government grants? Do you have the right site or space to run your proposed program?
3.       A history of successful outcomes
Always track your outcomes even if the program started out with just volunteer support. This will be valuable information for funders when you submit your first grant.  It will look great to funders if you started out without funding and had great results and need their support to take your program and services to the next level.  START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE!

GOD'S TIMING AND OPEN DOORS

-->

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it” Revelation 3:8

God opens doors in our lives for various reasons. There can be doors of opportunities and doors that lead us from one season to another. If we are obedient and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, we begin to develop clarity to find these open doors and the courage to explore them.    I believe God is in the process of revealing so much more to all of us. We will find behind our doors, talents we didn't know we had, healing we thought would never happen, restoration of relationships we saw as lost causes, and a manifestation of joy that we, in the natural, could never imagine.
When God provides us with doors of opportunity He has a specific purpose in mind for us, and if you ever need to remind yourself of just what that is remember this statement and scripture.  When you are blessed it is also meant for you to bless others. Luke 12:48 tells us; “From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.”  “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven” ECC 3:1. When the writer of Ecclesiastes said that there was an “appointed time” for everything, we can take this as referring to the divine timing of God.

Has God ever closed the door on an opportunity in your life? Maybe you don’t get the job you were hoping for, or a relationship doesn’t pan out the way you wanted. When Christians run into frustrations or obstacles, we often interpret those difficulties as a sign from God that this isn’t His will for us.  That may indeed be the case, but sometimes that is not true.  Be sure that it is an open door that you are not walking through due to fear, lack of faith, or because you just want more information before you will open it. Don’t miss your blessing waiting, when you should be walking through the door.

Timing is so important! If you are going to be successful in dance, you must be able to respond to rhythm and timing. It’s the same in the Spirit. People who don’t understand God’s timing can become spiritually spastic, trying to make the right things happen at the wrong time. They don’t get His rhythm – and everyone can tell they are out of step. They birth things prematurely, threatening the very lives of their God-given dreams. – T. D. Jakes

ALL IN GOD'S TIMING

Scripture is full of  examples of those who found open doors at points when many would have concluded they were bolted shut. As we read through the Bible, we find numerous instances where individuals reached important horizons late in life, or after repeated tries, or in spite of extreme obstacles. Sarah conceives a child when both she and Abraham are elderly, and a number of years later Abraham remarries after Sarah dies. Isaac servants dig a well successfully after two major thwarted attempts. Joseph realizes his dream of leadership after years of servitude and imprisonment.   Moses becomes a champion of his people forty years after his first passionate attempt utterly fails. David becomes king of Israel in spite of severe ridicule from his brothers, apathy from his father, and numerous battles with Saul forces. Hannah gives birth to many children long after her husband has accepted her barrenness and encouraged her to do the same. Ruth finds joy in a new marriage after her first husband dies; and Naomi, bereft of her husband and both sons, finds unexpected solace in a grandchild born to Ruth. Zechariah and Elizabeth are blessed with a child in their old age, and the angel declares that this gift is in response to their longstanding prayer.  So you see it is not too late, so get ready to walk through your open doors. God's timing is perfect.

Biblically, waiting is not just something we have to do until we get what we want. Waiting is part of the process of becoming what God wants us to be. – John Ortberg

GLOBAL CALLING TO SERVE YOLANDA CONLEY SHIELDS

FRANCE MISSION TRIP

When God calls we must answer even when we don’t know all of the steps. When God gives you a VISION he provides the PROVISION. Our response just has to be Yes, Send Me.

globalmissionsindex

I have known for years that the work I do in my career and ministry (teaching, training and coaching) was global and would reach people from different parts of the world. When I think about it I get a little nervous and then I am reminded of what God has already done and that He’s the one that provides and opens doors.  He will continue to show me the next steps and provide the provision needed. The work that I do in Africa and Europe continues to amaze me. I am a female, daughter, mom, sister, and friend, from Nashville TN that took time to say yes to a call. No matter your background and experience God will do the same for you when you just say yes, and take the first step even when you don’t know the second one. There is only one way and no shortcuts.

nancyfranceimage(24)

We sometimes see a call come in and we ignore it or we let it go to voice mail so that we can respond later. Sometimes calls need to be answered immediately. What is God calling you to do? Two years ago during my visit to Nancy and Paris France God was showing me a bigger picture than what I could see in front of me at the time.   I know sometimes we only ask for what we feel God will do, but He is waiting for us to ask for the impossible.

WHAT IS GOD CALLING YOU TO DO?

When it is bigger than us we are reminded that we will need Him in order to do it. During my trip in 2012 many in France were asking for me to bring a team back with me to do worship, and leadership training for the people in Nancy and Paris. Because of my background and contacts I started thinking about all of the, well-known artist that I knew who would be great. I prayed for months and didn’t feel a release to move forward and go back in 2013.

I began to think it was just my idea. You know we can come up with some stuff that’s not bad, but may not be in God’s timing. So I continued to pray and God began to show me what to do next.

FRANCEWORSHIPTEAM8_n

During my prayer time it was clear that I wouldn’t be bringing well-known artist, but young independent artist that would teach and train and also be launched into their next level of ministry.

photo 1(1)  photo 2

Sometimes when God is calling you to do something it’s not just about you, but about helping someone else walk in the call and destiny that God has for them. When you do that He shows you your next steps as well. God began to reveal whom he wanted to use on the trip. He showed me many people, so I began to invite them to informational meetings. Sometimes you don’t need to know all of the information, because sometimes God is trying to see if you will respond to the call. The call was made and those that God intended to join the team showed up. Some I could tell weren’t sure of the call and I knew God would speak clearly to them.

Yes, there is a time and a season for all things and I know it wasn’t the time for some, but God knows what He has for all of us and He is faithful to do what He has already promised.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

During the trip God did over and above anything that I would have known to ask or think. He showed me that worship is about humility, an open heart and passion. Even if you don’t have all of the equipment and sound that you need God is asking “Will you still worship me with a pure heart”? Sometimes it is not about our plans and agenda but Gods.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Proverbs 19:21.

Godsplanimages

Many people came to know Christ in a more intimate way, some came to know Him for the first time, others healed, delivered and launched into the next season that God had for them. I saw new faces on our team as they walked confidently in the purpose and destiny that God had for them. They not only served the people in Nancy and Paris France they also were restored, refreshed and pushed to their next level. Sometimes we allow people to put ceilings on our gifting, but God has no limits. A big thank to the entire team who lead worship and training sessions with excellence and to Joshua Jamison who provided great leadership to the worship team. It was a great time doing ministry together and enjoying the beautiful city of Nancy and Paris France.

“God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called” Your job is not to know everything you just have to say YES! Send me.

God was faithful and helped many embrace new callings and visions as they opened the eyes of their hearts.   I am grateful, honored, humbled, and blessed to have been able to serve, the people in Nancy and Paris France. God is the best connector. He builds spiritual family like no one else.  I am excited and prayerful about where God will send me next and looking forward to visiting again with my new friends and family. ARE YOU READY TO SAY YES?
